On September 26, 2025, Jared Weiser, the Ohio State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), took part in a panel discussion hosted by the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce. The event focused on the current state of small businesses in Ohio.
The panel featured representatives from several organizations, including the Ohio Business Roundtable, Ohio Council of Retail Merchants, Ohio Chamber of Commerce, JobsOhio, and the Ohio Farm Bureau. ABC Anchor Mike Kallmeyer moderated the discussion.
Weiser commented on the mood among NFIB members following recent legislative changes. “Ohio’s small business community is strong, and owners are feeling better about the economy and the future of their business,” said Weiser. “We will continue monitoring movement in the Ohio Legislature as we advocate for pro-business legislation to further strengthen our local economy.”
During the event, Weiser also encouraged business owners to engage with their elected officials regarding regulatory challenges. He stated that NFIB is advocating for a full repeal of beneficial ownership reporting requirements and urged people to support this effort by signing a petition.
