The City of Obetz announced on May 26 that the Community Yard Sale will take place this weekend, from May 29 to May 31. The event invites residents and visitors to participate in yard sales across the city, coinciding with similar events throughout Ohio.
The announcement encourages attendees to explore both featured stops and local neighborhoods, noting that unique items may be found throughout the area. The city said, “One person’s clutter is another person’s can’t-live-without-it bargain.”
Obetz provides various services for residents including athletics and recreation program sign-ups, event coordination, municipal administration, zoning approvals, and permits, according to the official website. The city also maintains facilities such as Dixon Quarry pavilion with restrooms and a kitchen that can seat more than 100 people. Historic preservation efforts include protecting landmarks like an 1873 church listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The mayor leads council discussions in Obetz and resolves tied votes as part of municipal governance, according to the official website.
The city encourages participants to prepare for a weekend of shopping by bringing cash and exploring different areas during the event.
