The Ohio Attorney General’s office has launched a new statewide Human Trafficking Hotline, accessible in four different ways. This initiative aims to facilitate the public’s ability to report suspected human trafficking cases.

“Human trafficking thrives in the shadows, but we cannot allow it to stay hidden,” stated Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. “We need every Ohioan to be our eyes and ears — because one tip can save a life, one tip can help us free someone who desperately needs our help.”

Since its launch last fall, the hotline has been available for calls at (844) END-OHHT. The options for reporting have now expanded beyond phone calls. People can text “ENDOHHT” to 847411 or use an app downloadable on Apple or Android devices. Additionally, reports can be submitted through ohioattorneygeneral.gov/ENDOHHT.

This Ohio-specific hotline is designed to connect callers with professionals trained in handling human trafficking cases efficiently. Operated by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation around the clock, tips are evaluated by criminal intelligence analysts and forwarded to local law enforcement or victim advocacy centers as needed.

In emergency situations, individuals are advised to call 911 immediately.

“These expanded reporting options help shine a brighter light on traffickers and steer victims toward what we call the ‘Highway to Hope,’” said Yost. “We urge all Ohioans to join us in this important fight – everyone can play a role to end human trafficking.”
