The Ohio Agribusiness Association announced on Apr. 22 that it has joined more than 330 agricultural organizations in urging the U.S. House of Representatives to advance Farm Bill 2.0, following its recent bipartisan approval by the House Committee on Agriculture.

The coalition, led by the Farm Credit Council, sent a letter to Speaker Mike Johnson, Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and all members of the House to highlight what they describe as an urgent need for updated legislative support for agricultural producers facing volatile conditions this year.

“Today’s challenges further underscore the urgent need for congressional action to provide certainty and support for agricultural producers navigating an increasingly volatile operating environment. Simply put, the industry cannot continue to manage the challenges of 2026 with the solutions from 2018,” said the group in its letter.

The Ohio Agribusiness Association assists member companies through employee education and training programs, scholarships, and collective initiatives aimed at advancing agribusiness across Ohio according to the official website. The association represents more than 225 member companies throughout Ohio and contributes policy leadership intended to foster a sustainable business climate according to its official website.

In addition to advocacy efforts such as supporting Farm Bill legislation, OABA partners with Sedgwick for workers’ compensation services and collaborates with other key agricultural organizations according to its official website.

Looking ahead, OABA’s involvement in this coalition reflects ongoing efforts within Ohio’s agriculture sector—through policy guidance, education initiatives, and communication—to create a stable environment amid industry changes according to its official website.
