Ohio Department of Agriculture issues draft permit renewal for Heartland Dairy

The Ohio Department of Agriculture announced it is accepting public comments on a draft Permit to Operate renewal for Heartland Dairy, located at 3101 Tama Road in Rockford, Mercer County. The proposed permit would be valid for five years if finalized.

The department said that any person may submit written comments or request a public meeting regarding the draft permit. Requests must be received by the Division of Livestock Environmental Permitting office no later than 5 p.m. on March 23, 2026. Comments can be mailed or emailed to the addresses provided by the department. A public meeting will be held if required under state regulations.

The Division of Livestock Environmental Permitting maintains an interested parties list for each county as well as a statewide list for notification about all draft permits. Those wishing to join these lists are encouraged to contact the division via email or phone.
