A man from Mt. Vernon, Ohio, has been sentenced to 42 months in prison after pleading guilty to making threats against law enforcement and illegally possessing a firearm. Jerime Graham-Woods, 34, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge James R. Knepp and will also serve three years of supervised release following his imprisonment.
Graham-Woods admitted to two charges: possession of a firearm by a prohibited person—stemming from a 2012 domestic violence conviction—and interstate communications with a threat to injure.
Court documents show that between June and September 2023, Graham-Woods posted multiple threatening comments on a popular social media platform. These included statements such as: “I can’t wait to be a part of the violent revolution;” “I can’t wait to start shooting law enforcement;” “lotta bodies in my future;” and “I’m very much for shooting police.” He also encouraged others with remarks like: “start killing politicians,” “start killing federal agents,” “let’s just show the government what all of our guns are for. Stop talking and start loading,” and “start shooting.”
During the investigation, authorities found a video on social media showing Graham-Woods firing a Heckler & Koch MP5SD 9mm submachine gun at an indoor range. His prior misdemeanor domestic violence conviction barred him from legally possessing firearms.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the FBI Toledo Resident Agency led the investigation into the case. Assistant United States Attorney Frank H. Spryszak prosecuted the case for the Northern District of Ohio.
