Ohio University secured a decisive 82-57 victory over the Bowling Green State University (BGSU) women’s basketball team on Wednesday night in Mid-American Conference play at the Stroh Center.

The Bobcats’ success was largely due to their three-point shooting, making 13 of 22 attempts for a 59.1 percent rate. Bella Ranallo led Ohio with 26 points, including six three-pointers, while Bailey Tabeling contributed 20 points.

Despite the loss, BGSU junior Paige Kohler reached a personal milestone by surpassing 1,000 career points. Kohler entered the game needing just one point and achieved the mark with a corner three-pointer on the Falcons’ first possession. She is now the 33rd player in school history to reach this total and tied for seventh-fastest to do so in program history.

Kohler finished with eight points, while sophomore Lauren Gerken and freshman Ky’Aira Miller each added ten for Bowling Green. Redshirt junior Jasmine Fearne scored nine points, and junior Joniyah Bland-Fitzpatrick also had eight.

The game started competitively, with Kohler’s early scoring giving BGSU an initial lead. However, Ohio responded with a series of runs throughout the first half, fueled by consistent outside shooting from Ranallo and others. The Bobcats led by as many as 23 points at halftime after converting nine of their fourteen three-point attempts in the opening two quarters.

Bowling Green narrowed the deficit to nineteen during a third-quarter run but could not get closer as Ohio closed out the game on another scoring streak.
