State Representative Tracy Richardson announced on May 4 that the Ohio Department of Aging has launched the Ohio Aging Compass, a new resource designed to provide tools, data, and long-term care information for older Ohioans in one location.
Richardson said she is passionate about supporting the aging population and hopes that seniors across the state will benefit from this tool. “As many already know, I am passionate about assisting our aging population,” said Richardson. “I hope many local seniors and those throughout Ohio will find this new tool informative and helpful in navigating resources very important to their quality of life.”
The Ohio Department of Aging provides services and advocacy for residents aged 60 and older, as well as their families, caregivers, and communities. Its programs include home- and community-based long-term support services along with health promotion initiatives.
Richardson represents Union County and parts of Marion County in Ohio according to her official website. She has volunteered with organizations such as the Union County Drug Free Coalition and local schools according to her official website. Her priorities have included advancing educational opportunities, limiting government intervention, and promoting economic prosperity according to her official website.
After earning a Bronze Star Medal for military service according to her official website, Richardson chaired the Veterans and Military Development Committee according to her official website and later served as a leadership professor for ROTC programs at Capital University and Ohio Wesleyan University according to her official website.
The launch of the Ohio Aging Compass marks another step by state officials toward consolidating information that can help improve quality of life for seniors.
