Jon Husted, U.S. Senator from Ohio, marked his first year in office by expressing gratitude to his constituents and highlighting legislative achievements during his tenure.

“Today, I mark my first full year serving as your U.S. Senator, and I have just one message: thank you. I came to the Senate committed to fighting for Ohio’s working families, and in just one year, we’ve already delivered real results. We passed tax cuts to help Ohioans keep more of what they earn, secured meaningful investments for communities across our state, advanced and passed three of my bills into law and introduced legislation to help more Americans achieve financial independence. It’s been a productive first year, and I look ahead knowing the best is yet to come,” said Husted.

Over the past year, Husted emphasized maintaining regular communication with Ohio residents about legislative efforts. He supported the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which became law in July. This budget law was designed to lower taxes for working families in Ohio while supporting job creation and small businesses. The legislation also aimed to strengthen border security and reinforce national defense.

In addition to supporting broader measures, Husted reported that three of his own bills were signed into law since he took office. He also highlighted securing funding targeted specifically at Ohio communities.

Husted introduced new legislation intended to give states more flexibility in reducing benefits cliffs—situations where increases in income can result in a loss of government assistance—and help individuals transition toward financial independence.

He further noted efforts made toward obtaining additional resources for rural hospitals throughout Ohio.
