Seven student-athletes from the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) Team, according to an announcement on April 2 by the league office. The Falcons’ honorees are Johnea Donahue, Taya Ellis, Jasmine Fearne, Lauren Gerken, Paige Kohler, Kendal Moxey and Emily Siesel.

The recognition highlights both academic and athletic achievements. To qualify for the Academic All-MAC Team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and participate in at least half of their team’s contests. True freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible for this honor.

Bowling Green’s total of seven honorees is the second highest among all MAC schools this year. Three Falcons—Emily Siesel, Lauren Gerken and Paige Kohler—were among just five athletes in the conference to maintain a perfect 4.00 GPA.

Siesel earned her third consecutive selection to the team, while Fearne and Kohler received their second straight honors. In total, 49 student-athletes across the MAC were recognized for their combined performance in academics and athletics.

The full list of recipients includes students from Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State (which led with eight selections), Massachusetts, Miami University (Ohio), Northern Illinois University, Ohio University, Toledo and Western Michigan.

This acknowledgment underscores Bowling Green’s commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
