Six individuals have pleaded guilty to illegal reentry into the United States in separate cases in the Northern District of Ohio, according to an announcement from the United States Attorney’s Office. Two others have been indicted on similar charges.
The six defendants who pleaded guilty include Francisco Constancio-Mariscal, 38, a Mexican citizen previously removed from the U.S. at least twice, most recently on April 28, 2011. He was found in Port Clinton, Ottawa County, on January 4 and is scheduled for sentencing on April 2.
Marcos Alberto Bardales Lopez, 27, a Honduran citizen previously removed at least once (most recently December 6, 2019), and Oscar Mendoza, 52, also from Honduras and previously removed at least once (most recently January 17, 2008), were both found in Maumee, Lucas County, on January 12. Their sentencing hearings are set for April 2.
Alvaro Veliz Gonzalez, 35, a Guatemalan citizen previously removed at least four times (most recently October 11, 2021), was found in Toledo on December 8, 2025. Guillermo Gutierrez-Rivas, 36, a Mexican citizen previously removed at least once (most recently June 29, 2024), was located in Benton Township on December 19, 2025. Both will be sentenced April 2.
Juviny A. Sabillon-Fernandez, a Honduran citizen aged 38 who had been previously removed at least once (most recently November 8, 2016), was found in Saybrook on January 19. He pleaded guilty February 17 and is scheduled for sentencing March 23.
Federal grand juries indicted two other individuals for violating Title 8 U.S. Code 1326 by being present in the Northern District of Ohio without proper authorization after prior removal:
Jorge Alfaro-Rosales, a Guatemalan citizen aged 34 who had been previously removed at least once (most recently May 31, 2013), was found in Toledo on February 2.
Hugo Hernandez Lopez—also known as Pedro Hernandez or Pedro Hernandez-Lopez—a Mexican citizen aged 36 with at least four previous removals (most recent September 22, 2024) was found in Toledo on January 28.
On February 19 Jaime Sanchez-Tlehuactle—a Mexican citizen aged 37—was sentenced to twenty months in prison after pleading guilty to illegal reentry following his most recent removal from the U.S. on April 21,
2021. After completing his sentence he will be transferred to administrative immigration custody for removal proceedings by U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The investigations leading to these indictments were conducted by the U.S.
Border Patrol-Sandusky Bay Station.

achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations,
and to protect communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.”
An indictment is an allegation only; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
