The Ohio Department of Transportation announced on March 11 that the intersection of State Route 665 and Kiousville-Georgesville Road in Madison County will be converted to an all-way stop beginning Wednesday, March 25.

Currently, the intersection operates as a two-way stop, requiring only traffic along Kiousville-Georgesville Road to stop before entering or crossing State Route 665. The department said a safety study conducted in 2025 found there were 17 total crashes at the intersection between 2019 and 2023, all of which were angle crashes.

As a result of these findings, ODOT will convert the intersection to an all-way stop in order to improve safety. Motorists will be alerted to upcoming changes through signage posted along both roads.

ODOT said it will continue to monitor the intersection after the change is implemented to ensure that the new traffic pattern is operating as intended. The department also said it is reviewing intersections throughout Ohio to determine where all-way stops could make travel safer, focusing on locations where crash data show that failures to stop or yield are common causes of accidents.

More information about this project can be found on the official roster page.
