Lorain home prices rise in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Lorain rose by $4,700 while total sales increased by 15.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 249 homes sold, with a median sale price of $53,000 - a 9.7% increase over the $48,300 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 216 homes sold in Lorain in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Lorain for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,291, approximately 2.4% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
