Amherst home prices fall in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in Amherst fell by $1 while total sales decreased by 42.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 56 homes sold, with a median sale price of $155,000 - a 0% decrease over the $155,001 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 98 homes sold in Amherst in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Amherst for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $2,489, approximately 1.6% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2018.
