South Amherst home prices rise in the fourth quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2017 in South Amherst rose by $66,163 while total sales increased by 50%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2017, there were nine homes sold, with a median sale price of $155,000 - a 74.5% increase over the $88,838 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were six homes sold in South Amherst in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in South Amherst for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,564, approximately 1% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2017.
