Amherst home prices fall in the second quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2017 in Amherst fell by $6,700 while total sales increased by 24.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2017, there were 77 homes sold, with a median sale price of $142,500 - a 4.5% decrease over the $149,200 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 62 homes sold in Amherst in the second quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Amherst for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $2,489, approximately 1.7% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2017.
