Lorain home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Lorain rose by $2,000 while total sales increased by 64.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 1,006 homes sold, with a median sale price of $59,000 - a 3.5% increase over the $57,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 610 homes sold in Lorain in 2016.

The median sales tax in Lorain for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,291, approximately 2.2% of the median home sale price for 2017.
