Madison home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Madison rose by $20,900 while total sales increased by 8.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 161 homes sold, with a median sale price of $146,900 - a 16.6% increase over the $126,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 149 homes sold in Madison in 2016.

The median sales tax in Madison for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $4,328, approximately 2.9% of the median home sale price for 2017.
