Brooklyn home prices rise in 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in 2018 in Brooklyn rose by $6,000 while total sales decreased by 21.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2018, there were 150 homes sold, with a median sale price of $96,000 - a 6.7% increase over the $90,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 192 homes sold in Brooklyn in 2017.

The median sales tax in Brooklyn for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $2,666, approximately 2.8% of the median home sale price for 2018.
