Independence home prices rise in the second half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2018 in Independence rose by $33,750 while total sales increased by 11.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2018, there were 49 homes sold, with a median sale price of $235,000 - a 16.8% increase over the $201,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 44 homes sold in Independence in the second half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $4,557, approximately 1.9% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2018.
