Independence home prices rise in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Independence rose by $45,500 while total sales decreased by 16.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 15 homes sold, with a median sale price of $270,500 - a 20.2% increase over the $225,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 18 homes sold in Independence in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $4,557, approximately 1.7% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
