Independence home prices rise in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in Independence rose by $21,500 while total sales increased by 34.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 31 homes sold, with a median sale price of $235,000 - a 10.1% increase over the $213,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 23 homes sold in Independence in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $4,557, approximately 1.9% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2018.
