Madison home prices rise in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Madison rose by $45,450 while total sales decreased by 25.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 20 homes sold, with a median sale price of $179,450 - a 33.9% increase over the $134,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 27 homes sold in Madison in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Madison for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $4,328, approximately 2.4% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
