U.S. Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-Ohio) is facing backlash from a former Republican state representative after voting to impeach former President Donald Trump.
Former Ohio Rep. Christina Hagan said she was disappointed by Gonzalez’s vote.
“I have never seen a greater amount of backlash for any one single vote taken by any one single member of our Republican congressional delegation in Ohio,” Hagan said, Politico reported. “I have heard from Republicans in positions of power, within party leadership and all the way across the spectrum to faithful volunteers and business leaders throughout the region who are expressing serious frustration and distaste.”
Gonzalez was one of ten Republicans in Congress who voted to impeach Trump.
The others were: Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-Wash.), John Katko (R-N.Y.), Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), Peter Meijer (R-Mich.), Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.), Tom Rice (R-S.C.), Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and David Valadao (R-Calif.)
The impeachment vote was made in the wake of the Capitol being overrun by protesters.
