Women’s Tennis Falls to Shawnee State

Baldwin-Wallace College Athletics issued the following announcement on Feb. 12

The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis fell to NAIA Shawnee State University in a non-conference game by a final score of 5-4 at the Paramount Tennis Club.

BW (0-4) was able to win one of the three doubles matches to start things off.

  • Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Ashtyn Morris (Salem) and sophomore Gabriela Heideman(Doylestown/Wadsorth) won 8-6 at the No. 1 doubles spot. 
The Yellow Jackets and Shawnee St. (4-1) split the singles portion of the match 3-3. 

  • Morris won 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles position.
  • Heideman pulled off a victory in the No. 2 singles spot by wins of 6-4, 6-1.
  • Sophomore Kierstyn Yates (Grafton/Midview) picked up the other point for BW by wins of 6-1, 6-2.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, February 26th when they travel to Pepper Pike to take on Ursuline College in a non-conference game at the Ursuline Tennis Courts. The start time of the match is to be determined.
