Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced Ohio will receive $20,739,853 in federal funding this year for electric vehicle infrastructure from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Last year, Rep. Kaptur joined nearly every House Democrat to pass the Jobs and Infrastructure bill, while 94 percent of Republicans opposed it.
Today, the U.S. Department of Transportation released the funding amounts being made available to each state to construct a national network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Ohio will receive nearly $21 million in 2022 – part of a total investment of $140 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act over the next five years for the EV network initiative.
“Electric vehicle technology is the future of America’s automotive industry – and Ohio will lead the way to get us there,” said Rep. Kaptur. “This federal investment will accelerate construction of chargers across the state, and support good-paying jobs for the workers who build and maintain them. The Jobs and Infrastructure bill is already helping to rebuild our region, and it will continue delivering to grow the economy and expand Ohio’s Middle Class.”
