New Role of Assistant Superintendent

5

EHOVE Career Center is proud to announce that Principal Erika Beckman of Republic has been selected to fill the newly-created role of Assistant Superintendent for the district starting this summer with the 2022-2023 school year.

“Erika has been an invaluable member of our Leadership Team and always strives to do her best for our students, staff, and community,” said Superintendent Chris McCully.

With the upcoming retirement of a high school administrator, there is an opportunity for EHOVE to restructure our administrative team.  Rather than filling the soon-to-be-vacated high school position, the new role of Assistant Superintendent was created to benefit the entire campus.

As Adult Education enrollment of full-time students approaches 600 and high school enrollment of over 800, EHOVE needs to continue to adapt and evolve as our population grows. This new  position’s responsibilities will include primarily human resources and central office duties to support both Adult Education and the high school, all of which will increase efficiency and consistency.

Beckman, who started at EHOVE as Assistant Director in 2010 and later became Principal in 2015, is also a proud career tech graduate and advocate.  She says she is excited for this new role that keeps her at EHOVE.

“EHOVE has a wonderful, caring staff that continues to be innovative, and can adapt and evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our students and the community.  I am proud to continue to be a part of the EHOVE team.”

Prior to EHOVE, Beckman taught Tech Prep Computer Aided Design (CAD) for six years at The Tech Center in Fremont and courses at Terra State Community College.  She gained plenty of industry experience working at ThyssenKrupp Atlas in Fostoria as a process analyst in the engineering department and as I.T. specialist focusing on materials management and production planning.

Beckman also has the education to match her experience.  After graduating from Seneca East High School in Attica and attending Sentinel Career Center for Computer-Aided Drafting, she earned a Master of Education from the University of Toledo, a Bachelor of Science in Technology from Bowling Green State University, an Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering/CAD/CAM from Terra State Community College and a Principal’s and Superintendent’s License from the University of Findlay.

Beckman and her husband of 22 years, Josh, have two daughters, Andra and Erin.  They manage a hog facility on their property, where she handles the bookwork for the operation as well as the farm land.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending plenty of time with her family camping, boating, or even just at home with their two dogs.
