Non-Traditional College Student Scholarship Applications Available

Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 24

The Beavercreek Women’s League awards college scholarships valued at one thousand dollars or more to non-traditional female students. Twenty – one years ago, the organization started a scholarship program to benefit Greene County women who are returning to school and have a financial need to complete their education. Currently, the group gives at least one Women-in-Transition scholarship per year.

 

The post-secondary scholarship must be used for tuition, lab fees, or other required instructional materials. Funds will be deposited in the college bursar's office in the recipient's name with the Student ID number.

 

Candidates applying for the Beavercreek Women’s League “Woman-in-Transition” Scholarship 2022 must be female, born in or before 1997, and a resident of Greene County, Ohio. Other requirements include a minimum total of 20 college credit hours from an accredited college within the past five years, a recent official college

transcript, a Personal Statement essay, and a minimum of five credit hours per semester while utilizing the scholarship funds.

 

Applications are currently available at beavercreekwomensleague.org/scholarships.

The deadline for application submission is an April 1, 2022 postmark. Scholarship recipient(s) will be notified by April 30, 2022.

 

BWL Scholarships are funded through sale of the annual scholarship luncheon tickets as well as silent auction ticket sales. Since the grant’s inception, over one hundred thousand dollars has been awarded to Greene County non-traditional female students who need help paying for their post-secondary education.
