ESC Partners with Cardinal Health STEM Initiative

6

The ESC is partnering with Cardinal Health as part of its STEM initiative, and has been since 2020, when both organizations engaged with Columbus City Schools (CCS) to create a pilot program focused on increasing middle school students’ exposure to STEM-related careers. The ESC is facilitating the relationship between Cardinal Health and CCS to help ensure the initiative is a success.

Throughout 2020, Cardinal Health mentors joined biweekly 45-minute virtual meetings with four CCS middle schools to share information about their STEM-related careers. The CCS pilot program was so successful that for the 2021-2022 school year all CCS middle schools are engaged in similar monthly virtual meetings featuring Cardinal Health mentors.

Cardinal Health and the ESC have plans to continue the partnership and broaden the impact by expanding the program to other Central Ohio school districts.
