Marion City School Board Member Resigns

The Marion City Board of Education seeks applicants to fill the unexpired term of board member, Leslie Schneider, who resigned March 21, 2022. The board will begin interviewing 

candidates soon and must name a replacement within 30 days of the resignation. The newly appointed member will serve until December 31, 2023. If the appointed member 

desires to continue serving, he or she must run in the next general election. 

“On behalf of the Board of Education, we thank Mrs. Schneider for her years of service to our students, staff, and families,” said Board Vice President Kelly Mackay. “Her dedication 

and leadership will be missed. We wish her nothing but the very best.”

 If you meet the requirement below and are interested in serving on the Marion City Schools Board of Education, please visit the district website at 

https://www.marioncityschools.org/BoardofEducation or contact Veronica Reinhart, Treasurer, at vreinhart@mcspresidents.org for an application. All Applications are due by 3:00 

p.m. on April 8, 2022 to vreinhart@mcspresidents.org.

According to Ohio law, people serving on Ohio school boards must be at least 18 years old, district residents and registered voters. The board will review all applications and 

decide on the replacement the week of April 11th.
