Turner on UN's decision to remove Russia from Human Rights Council: "Putin’s egregious actions will not be tolerated"

Turner

Today, the United Nations General Assembly voted to suspended Russia from the U.N. Human Rights Council over “gross and systematic violations and abuses of human rights." Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) released the following statement in response:

“The global community cannot sit idly by while Vladimir Putin and his thugs continue to launch unprovoked attacks and brutally slaughter innocent Ukrainian citizens. Putin’s war crimes do not align with the mission of a United Nations. Today’s unprecedented decision to remove Russia from the Human Rights Council sends a clear message to Moscow that Putin’s egregious actions will not be tolerated.”
