Today, Ohio Senate Minority Leader Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) issued the following statement after the Ohio Supreme Court invalidated the newest state legislative maps adopted by majority Commission members on March 28. The Court gave the Commission until May 6 to draw new, constitutional maps:
“I’m grateful that the Supreme Court has once again rejecting the majority’s gerrymandered maps. Republicans’ lack of bipartisanship has been costly to Ohio taxpayers and has tarnished voters’ faith in our democracy. This time, I hope the majority Commission members will finally put the people of Ohio over partisanship and simply adopt the fair maps voters have demanded.”
