Sophomore Chloe Vance has earned Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week award for her work over the weekend. She picked up two wins and a save in three relief appearances and a start. (Release)
In 16 2/3 innings of action, she allowed four hits and struck out seven batters. In a relief appearance in game one against Alderson Broaddus, she pitched the final 5 1/3 innings and got the win, after allowing two runs and striking out three.
In her first start since March 21, Vance pitched a complete game in an 10-1 win against Concord, on Sunday. She went six innings for the win and struck out three hitters, while only allowing four base runners (three hits and a walk). She set the Mountain Lions down in order in three separate innings.
The Falcons come home to wrap up the regular season this weekend. On April 29, they will take on Wheeling University at 3 and 5 p.m.
