Today, state Senator Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) issued the following statement in response to a mass shooting this week at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, that killed 19 children and two teachers.
“Words are inadequate to describe my deep sorrow over the tragedy that occurred in Texas yesterday. I pray for the children viciously taken in Uvalde and their families. I pray that God watch over all our children as we demand that politicians take action to put an end to these senseless acts. There cannot be life, liberty and pursuit of happiness when the safety of America’s children is ignored in the halls of power.”
