Congressman Ryan (OH-13) today praised the announcement from Ford to build a new electric commercial vehicle at their Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake. This $1.5 billion investment will create 1,800 manufacturing jobs in Northeast Ohio and create an additional 90 jobs in Lima and Sharonville.
“This is amazing news for Northeast Ohio and the future of electric vehicle manufacturing in America. Ford’s plans to build a new electric vehicle in our region speaks to the unwavering commitment, strong work ethic and innovative spirit of our workforce,” said Congressman Ryan.
Ryan continued, “Here in the Mahoning Valley, we are already well on our way to dominating the electric vehicle market and this investment further solidifies Ohio’s role in leading the world into the next generation of manufacturing. I am proud to have supported this movement from the beginning and will continue to support Ohio workers and ensure they are connected to these good-paying union jobs.”
