Today, state Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) commended the Ohio Senate’s passage of House Bill 687, the state Capital Budget that appropriates $25 million for economic development projects in Ohio’s 11th Senate District, which comprises much of Lucas County.
“I’m encouraged to see so many deserving Lucas County institutions receiving the financial assistance they need to be maintained and expanded,” Senator Fedor said. “The projects receiving funding through this bill will make Toledo and its surrounding communities even better places to live and visit.”
Local projects in the bill include:
• $20 million for the University of Toledo
• $1.25 million for the Toledo Museum of Art
• $600,000 for the National Museum of the Great Lakes
• $500,000 for the Broadway Corridor Business Incubator
• $450,000 for the Toledo Innovation Center
• $350,000 for the Unison Health Dorr Street Facility
• $250,000 for the Toledo YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter
• $250,000 for the Toledo School for the Arts Expansion
• $200,000 for the Life Revitalization Center
• $150,000 for the Nuestra Gente Community Center
• $125,000 for the Uptown Smiles Clinical Update
• $75,000 for the Danny Thomas Park Amphitheater
• $50,000 for the Glass City Enrichment Center
• $50,000 for the Libbey House
• $50,000 for the Harbor Crisis Stabilization Unit
The Capital Budget includes $3.51 billion in funding for capital improvement projects throughout Ohio. It also provides $1.2 billion to support the Intel semiconductor project. The bill now heads to Governor DeWine for his signature.
