Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to Mount Union

 The Baldwin Wallace women's swimming and diving team falls University of Mount Union to a final score of 132-102 in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW (7-1) won 4 out of 12 events, as it fell to Mount Union to a final score of 132-102.

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included: 

  • Freshman Rachel Fibbi (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Upper Saint Clair) placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:27.51
  • Sophomore All-OAC Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:03.96 and second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.31
  • Junior Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.53 seconds and third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.36 seconds
  • Junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:20.78 and won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:10.16
  • Junior Jami Melzer (Bradenton, Fla. / Lakewood Ranch) placed second in the 1-meter dive with 56.70 points
  • Senior Aubrey Syron (Dayton / Archbishop Alter) placed second in the 100-meter butterfly in a time of 1:04.55
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken) finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:32.66
 BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 200-yard medley relay team of Ratino, Reed, Syron and Dondorfer won in a time of 1:56.81
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay squad of freshman Emily Kusar (Perry), Fibbi, freshman Ariel Lisy (Strongsville) and sophomore Mattie Hicks (Oneida) placed fourth in a time of 1:52.34
The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Thursday, November 17 - 19 as it travels to Oberlin for a three day non-conference meet against Oberlin College in the Carr Pool.
