The Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink opened in November for the 2022-2023 Season and will remain open through February 2023. The outdoor rink, an operation of Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC), is located at 95 Winburn Way, across from the Lithia Park playground, around the corner from the Plaza, and at the corner of Nutley Street and Winburn Way.
The annual FIRST FROST, a community event on ice, is scheduled for Saturday, December 17, from 4 to 9 p.m. This celebratory evening culminates the spirit of the outdoor rink and the holidays! Wondering what you and yours can expect?
- Discounted family skate, 4 to 5:30 p.m.
- Ashland City Band live performances, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
- SOFSC performances, starting at approximately 5:30 p.m.
- Public skating resumes with holiday music performed by the Ashland High School band members, from approximately 6:15 – 9 p.m.
We hope you can experience one of the most magical places in Ashland… that little outdoor rink in beautiful Lithia Park, where the air is fresh, the white lights are twinkling and the music blends with the sounds of nature and blades on the ice… “Let’s skate!”
To add to the holiday spirit, we hope you can experience the Festival of Light in downtown Ashland. For 30 years the Ashland Chamber of Commerce has offered a shining backdrop to Ashland’s many magical winter events--- Enjoy the lights through New Year’s, ashlandchamber.com! And don’t miss the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s, “It Christmas, Carol!” production, playing through New Year’s, osfashland.org!
And lastly, the downtown Winter SoundWalk is brought to you by Rogue World Music, the Ashland Chamber of Commerce and APRC. Walk, Look, Listen! The SoundWalk will be available through January 6, 2023. Complete info at RogueWorldMusic.org/SoundWalk.
