Both Kenyon College's 2022 cross country programs earned All-Academic Team recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), which made the announcement Thursday.
The Owls men's team earned the USTFCCCA honor with a team grade point average of 3.58, while the Owls women's team racked up a grade point average of 3.80.
In order to qualify, a team needed to register a cumulative grade point average of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. Overall, in NCAA Division III, there 189 men's teams and 212 women's teams that qualified for All-Academic Team status.
The 2022 Kenyon programs were directed by interim coach Kim Clark, who bridged the gap between previous head coach Ciara Kissane and current head coach Kirk Shellhouse.
Both Kenyon programs have now earned the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award for 17 consecutive seasons. During that span, the women's 3.80 grade point average from this past season is the best, as it surpassed the previous best of 3.71 set by the 2021 team.
