WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded four Airport Improvement Program grants totaling $4,867,314 to four airports in Northeast Ohio.
“Ohio airports are vital infrastructure supporting travel and commerce in our state,” Brown said. “These investments will enhance safety and operations at Northeast Ohio airports and improve travel for area residents and businesses.”
Funding from FAA includes:
- $4,287,150 to the Akron-Canton Regional Airport to remove a taxiway, shift or reconfigure an existing taxiway, and acquire snow removal equipment.
- $56,814 to the Lorain County Regional Airport to install navigational aids.
- $163,350 to the Geauga County Airport to construct a taxiway.
- $360,000 to the Wayne County Airport to update the airport master plan or study.
