The Department of Justice (DOJ) has come under scrutiny for its creation of a national Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) Resource Center, described by Larry Keane as a "dangerous journey" that could lead to the denial of due process rights to citizens. Keane, in a critical assessment, pointed out that the center fails to adequately protect the accused's due process rights.

Keane highlighted the flaws in the current red flag laws, stating that they infringe upon Second Amendment rights without proper due process. He emphasized the importance of due process in protecting fundamental civil liberties, such as the right to keep and bear arms.

Concerns were raised about the potential for abuse in ERPO laws, with Keane warning of scenarios where individuals could be unfairly targeted and left defenseless. He stressed the necessity of strong due process protections in red flag laws to prevent misuse and ensure the full restoration of Second Amendment rights.

The DOJ's National ERPO Center's approach was criticized by Keane, who accused the administration of prioritizing gun control over civil liberties. The actions of the DOJ have prompted reactions from Congress, with Rep. Thomas Massie and Rep. Jim Jordan raising questions about the legality and implications of the center's operations.

In conclusion, Keane expressed concern that the DOJ's initiatives could lead to the widespread adoption of red flag laws without adequate protections for individual rights. He urged for a reevaluation of the DOJ's priorities to uphold the rule of law and safeguard civil rights.
