FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26th. As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
Our request pertains specifically to a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1st, 2024 till September 26th, 2024. The information we seek includes the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount paid.
As a media organization, our role involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
