FOIA Request Sent to Hocking County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Hocking County, Ohio, on September 26, 2024. The request, made by the Buckeye Reporter, a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage of local governmental affairs, seeks information regarding vendor payments made by the county.

Specifically, the Buckeye Reporter has requested a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024 until September 26, 2024. The desired information includes the name of each vendor, the date of each transaction, a description of each transaction and the amount paid in each transaction.

As part of our mission at the Buckeye Reporter to provide transparency and hold public institutions accountable, we believe that access to these public records is essential. Given our role in disseminating information to the public as a media organization, we have also requested a fee waiver for this information.

We are currently awaiting a response from Hocking County officials regarding this request. We will continue to pursue this matter diligently in order to provide our readers with an accurate picture of how their tax dollars are being spent.
