FOIA Request Sent to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26th

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Dekalb County on September 26, 2024. The request, made by us at DeKalb Times, seeks to shed light on the county's financial transactions with vendors throughout the year.

The records requested specifically include a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, until September 26, 2024. The desired details for each transaction are the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount.

As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe access to these public records is crucial. This information will enable us to fulfill our professional responsibilities effectively. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public.

Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as part of this FOIA request. As always, we remain committed to serving our community by providing accurate and timely information about local government activities.

We will continue to keep you updated as we await a response from Dekalb County regarding this request.
