Lt. Gov. Husted: Bernie Moreno is 'somebody that you can count on to stand up for our conservative values'

Lt. Gov. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) said U.S. Sen. Candidate Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) knows the United States is the "best hope for the world to advance" the cause of freedom.

"Bernie Moreno is a hard worker. I've known Bernie for a while," Husted said on the OnTarget Podcast. "He's somebody that you can count on to stand up for our conservative values, use common sense."

"But also you know, he's a patriot. He he loves this country," said Husted. "He knows that this country is the best hope for the world to advance the cause and preserve the cause of freedom. And he'll fight. He'll fight for us, He'll he'll do a great job."

Jon Husted was adopted and raised in Northwest Ohio's Williams County. He earned multiple degrees from the University of Dayton. He previously served as vice president at the Dayton-Area Chamber of Commerce before joining public service.

Husted has served as Ohio Secretary of State and House Speaker. First elected Lt. Governor in 2018, he was reelected in 2022. Husted and his wife Tina have three children.

U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno (R) has been endorsed by President Donald Trump. He is running against incumbent Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown (D). 

Moreno lives in Westlake, Ohio with his wife Bridget and has four adult children. Moreno moved to the U.S at age 5 and become a citizen at 18 years old. In 2005 Bernie purchased and became the owner his first car dealership, according to his website.

In 2016, Moreno co-founded ChampTitles and served as Chairman of the Board before selling his stake in the company.
