A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Coshocton County on October 7, 2024. The request was made by the Buckeye Reporter, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The Buckeye Reporter requested records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., specifically asking for a list of FOIA logs that were sent to Coshocton County from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The fields requested included the requester's name and organization, the content of the request, the date of the request and its completion date, as well as the status of the FOIA.
As members of the media, we at Buckeye Reporter are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
