Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted said Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory marked a historic comeback, voicing strong support for Trump's “America First” agenda. Husted expressed readiness to collaborate on priorities such as bolstering border security, reducing inflation, and creating jobs across Ohio’s heartland.

“Donald Trump’s victory is the greatest political comeback in American history. Once again, the working men and women of our nation will have a champion in the White House,” Husted wrote in a Nov. 6 social media post on X. “Ohio is ready to work with President Trump to achieve the America First agenda: strengthening border security, curbing inflation, and creating jobs in the heartland.”

Donald J. Trump, having secured victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, is scheduled to take office on January 20, 2025. As he prepares to assume the presidency, his administration's agenda is expected to prioritize initiatives that were central to his campaign, such as changes in immigration policies, economic reform, and energy independence.

Husted has criticized the Biden-Harris administration's immigration policies, attributing a sharp rise in Haitian immigrants in Springfield to the administration’s decision to grant temporary protected status and allow family reunification measures. Husted argued these policies have strained local infrastructure, from schools managing language barriers to healthcare services facing increased demand. Additionally, he raised public safety concerns related to unlicensed drivers and reported healthcare risks tied to vaccination gaps. Husted stated he plans to investigate the economic impact of this surge on the community.

He also recently highlighted the need for increased automation and technology integration in the state's manufacturing sector to stay competitive globally. Speaking at a Manufacturing Appreciation Luncheon, Husted emphasized that advancements like robotics, automation, and sensors will enhance productivity and support Ohio's $114 billion manufacturing output. Husted also discussed regional economic initiatives, including the new Caldwell East of I-77 Business Park, designed to attract light manufacturing and logistics, which will support job creation and economic growth in Ohio.

According to his official bio page, Jon Husted was adopted and raised in Northwest Ohio's Williams County. He grew up with a strong foundation in faith, family, and hard work. After excelling as an All-American defensive back and earning advanced degrees from the University of Dayton, Husted contributed to economic development as vice president at the Dayton-Area Chamber of Commerce.

Husted's tenure as Secretary of State was marked by significant improvements in business processes, including reducing start-up costs and eliminating office fees, saving taxpayers millions. As House Speaker, he championed Ohio’s most conservative budget in decades with a historic income tax cut. Elected Lt. Governor in 2018, Husted continues to balance his public service with his roles as a husband to his wife Tina and father to their three children.
