Lt. Gov. Jon Husted expressed approval of the November jobs report, making his statement in a December 20 post on X.
"The November jobs report is in: We have the most jobs in the history of our state," said Husted, Lt. Governor. "Since Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted took office, +110,000 jobs have been created!"
In a subsequent post on X regarding the same report, Husted said: "In just November, another 10,000 Ohioans secured employment! Ohio is full of opportunity. Right now, there are 2.5 jobs available on OhioMeansJobs.com for every 1 person on unemployment."

The Ohio Department of Job & Family Services released the November jobs report on December 20. According to the release, the state's unemployment rate remained steady at 4.3 percent from October to November 2024. Nonagricultural wage and salary employment saw an increase of 5,500, reaching a total of 5,685,000 in November compared to a revised figure of 5,679,500 in October.
The release also indicated a slight decrease in unemployed workers to 255,000 from October's count of 256,000. Over the past year, unemployment has risen by 44,000 individuals from November 2023's figure of 211,000; consequently, from November 2023 to November 2024, the unemployment rate increased by .7 percentage points from 3.6 percent.
According to the news release, the labor force participation rate rose slightly to 62.6 percent in November from October's rate of 62.5 percent and was up from November 2023's rate of 61.8 percent.
The report highlighted employment growth in goods-producing industries such as construction and mining and logging sectors as well as in private service-providing sectors. However, not all sectors experienced growth; there were reported losses in manufacturing and trade transportation and utilities.
Husted was adopted and raised in Northwest Ohio's Williams County and holds multiple degrees from the University of Dayton. Before entering public service, he served as vice president at the Dayton-Area Chamber of Commerce according to his official biography. Husted has held positions as Ohio Secretary of State and House Speaker before being elected Lt. Governor in 2018 and reelected in 2022. He resides with his wife Tina and their three children.
