Jim Jordan discusses Kash Patel's role in addressing FBI issues

Rep. Jim Jordan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 4th district since 2007, shared his views on Kash Patel through a series of tweets. These posts highlight Patel's experiences and qualifications in the context of law enforcement and intelligence.

On January 30, 2025, Rep. Jordan tweeted about Patel's experience with alleged abuse of power by law enforcement agencies. He stated that "Kash Patel understands how law enforcement power can be abused—because he has been a victim of that abuse." According to Jordan, while working for Representative Nunes, the Justice Department secretly obtained Patel’s personal phone and text records during his involvement in what Jordan referred to as "the Russia hoax."

Later that day, at 16:42 UTC, Rep. Jordan emphasized Patel's support for law enforcement personnel due to his professional background. He tweeted that "Kash Patel supports the men and women of law enforcement because he has worked alongside them." Jordan noted that Patel has tried cases and managed complex investigations, gaining significant experience within both the law enforcement system and the intelligence community.

At 17:04 UTC on January 30, Rep. Jordan further advocated for Patel's capabilities to reform the FBI. He asserted in a tweet that "Kash Patel has the skillset, the traits, the temperament, and the intelligence that we need desperately at the FBI now." Jordan expressed confidence in Patel's ability to depoliticize the FBI and refocus its efforts on crime prevention and public protection.
