Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has initiated legal action against a Dayton resident and a cemetery association for allegedly accepting payments for gravestones without delivering the products. The lawsuit was filed in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court against Trevor Bush and the Harrison Township Cemetery Association, which operates under the name "Greencastle Cemetery."

According to the lawsuit, the defendants entered into contracts with consumers for grave markers, requiring substantial upfront payments. Despite assurances that headstones would be ready within several months, many orders remained unfulfilled past their promised delivery dates.

"Losing a loved one is hard enough without having to fight to get what you paid for," stated Yost. "Any business that operates so deceptively deserves legal consequences."

The lawsuit seeks restitution for affected consumers and civil penalties for violations of Ohio's Consumer Sales Practices Act. The Attorney General’s Office is urging other consumers who may have had similar experiences with Bush or the Harrison Township Cemetery Association to file complaints through www.OhioProtects.org or by calling 1-800-282-0515.
